For all of us, it's morning. Pastrami woke up all cranky and crabbing (crying in sugar glider words), but the second mommy brought breakfast in "bed" (ie: her pouch) she stopped crabbing. Then when there was no more food on my finger, she started up again, so got more food :)
The "morning" routine starts at 7pm here for our current babies. Everyone is nocturnal, so they wake up at 7pm. The rounds start with giving Iberico his gourmet meal. I portion his plate out so he can choose what he wants, veggies, fruit, baby food, egg, all in separate locations on his plate :P
Then Canoli's mix of her hedgehog food and worms (she usually doesn't eat till later when no one is looking, she's shy!).
Pastrami and Coconut are next, they get fed a lot of their food by hand. Once I get their mix of food together, they wake up and start to run on their wheel and run around their enclosure. So I just stick two fingers in their food and give one finger for each of them to lick off.
Last is Sesame, who gets her worm put in front of her and she'll stalk it for a bit until she eats it (check out our youtube page to see videos of that).
We try to feed Iberico the Short Tailed Opossum and Pastrami and Coconut the Sugar Gliders by hand, so that they are used to our smell and want to be around people. If you want to stop by to feed them, and then play with them now that they are all awake, feel free to let me know!
